Well, it is official! We got a call from Tamara (A Family Journey agency director) yesterday and she was holding in her hand the official letter from PGN stating that Emily is our daughter; recognized everywhere that she is the daughter of Russell and Anne Loeffler. Can you believe it?!! The last things to happen are the birth certificate, passport and embassy stuff that have to be completed and we can go and bring our little girl home. It should be about 8 weeks for that to complete. Let's pray for 6 weeks. I could not hold back the tears when I found out yesterday. It still seems like a dream.
I want to thank you all so much for your continued prayer and support throughout this. Please do not stop praying. There are still many orphans around the world that need forever homes. Emily is one that now has a forever home. Also please pray for Lily (the foster mother) as she has been caring for Emily since birth except for the 10 months she was in the orphanage. Lily is a very sweet lady and has a wonderful family. This will be hard for her to see Emily leave Guatemala but she also told me herself that she knows this is best. Another prayer request is for the transition time and that little Emily will feel comfort and peace with us. I am sure that it will not be easy for her but then again, God is awesome and merciful.
I will update you all more when there is more. Praise God for this incredible thing that He has done.

Oh Heavenly Father Thank you for this blessing. A precious child of yours, Emily, will soon have a permanent home. Father we ask that while Russell and Anne wait for Emily that you keep her safe and warm. Lord please bless Emily with a happy and joyous life filled with fun and laughter. Lord we ask that you keep her safe from the evil one as Emily grows older and finds her way to you Lord. Lord, please touch the Loeffler house and bless it with an abundance of love and protection for her and the entire family. Let this house be a safe place for them to honor you Lord and keep the evil one at bay. Lord I pray that the entire family will always keep close to you, and stay centered in you during all times of their life both good and bad. Lord, I now lift Lily up to you. Please hold her and love her Father, like she has held and loved precious Emily. Keep her pain and grieving minimal Lord as she hands Emily over to Russell and Anne. Thank you for the gift of Lily and the safe place she offers children in need. I ask you this Lord, through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
I was thinking of you guys this morning, wondering how it was going. I was THRILLED to read your last post. How exciting! I hope when you're all settled in with your Emily, we'll get to see her!!
We can hardly believe it...how amazing. God's timing is perfect and I'm thankful to have been part of the prayer community. I'll keep praying!
